I am an electrical and electronics engineer aboard a dynamically positioned dive support vessel. I have been at sea for over forty years so have seen many changes especially in the fields in which I specialise. The vessels I work on use saturation diving techniques and Remotely operated vehicle (ROV) technology to carry out underwater engineering, construction, wreck recovery, (even the occasional treasure hunt). I am responsible for all the vessel electrical, electronic and computer systems which are at the heart of the vessel's ability to carry out this type of work. I'm married with three children, one an airline pilot, and one grandchild so far. I live in the most beautiful part of the most beautiful country in the world, the Scottish Borders. (you may dispute this if you wish.. doesn't mean I'll change my mind!)
