User talk:Nightrider~enwiki
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! It's great to have someone putting in information about Icelandic weightlifters. My question is about the image of Jón Páll Sigmarsson. Where is that image from? Do you own it's copyright? You can respond either here or on my talk page. Enjoy your time at Wikipedia! --Alex S 22:58, 30 Mar 2004 (UTC)
It's from the Icelandic Weightlifters Society. http://www.kraft.is/um_kraft/hetjur/jonpall.asp
- I don't know about this legal stuff, but I think you have to ask permission to use an image like that on Wikipedia. If you could ask and recieve permission, we can keep it in the article. Same goes for Jónas Hallgrímsson. --Alex S 01:05, 31 Mar 2004 (UTC)
I've got permission for the Jón Páll image, from the webmaster on www.kraft.is. Concerning the Jónas Hallgrímsson image, there is no copyright on it, he lived from 1807-1845 and that drawing was made in his lifetime. Copyright expires in Iceland in 70 years.
File source problem with File:Jonash.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Jonash.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:14, 23 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:14, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Nightrider. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Nightrider~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
