- It's also the "correct" name for a newt... I'm creating a disambig page and breaking the redirect. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 06:30, May 16, 2005 (UTC)
- So why does EFT now redirect by default to "Newt." EFT is merely a phase in the development of a Mewt, and has about 30,000 references on the web. EFT in relation to emotional freedom tecniques has about 500,000 references. EFT in relation to electronic funds transfer has about about 60,000,000 references. This suggests that the vast majority of users who search on "eft" have no interest in the development phases of newts! Geronimo20 06:00, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Regarding Electrical Fast Transients: The criteria for inclusion on a disambiguation page is what a user may be looking for when typing in a term (within limits), and since EFT is an acronym used in the context of electrical engineering (see [1] or [2], for example), I think it belongs here. Whether or not the acronym is actually used on the destination page depends on other factors, but it doesn't invalidate the term. Including it here doesn't violate any guidelines at either WP:DAB or WP:MOSDAB, and it makes the page more useful if it's present, so I'm putting it back. Feel free to discuss here if there are disagreements, of course. --Fru1tbat 14:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
