Hi
[edit]Hello, Cinnamon! Thanks for your contributions to Korean geography. I'm especially happy about the maps you added. They're excellent! I can't make maps very well, so I really appreciate that. :-)
I did want to mention that there is a difference betweeen a "city" and a "province" in South Korea. See Administrative divisions of South Korea for more information... Because of that, I think that categories like Category:North Chungcheong should not be included in Category: Cities in South Korea. Perhaps we should make a category "Provinces of South Korea" or maybe a general category "South Korean geography" which could cover all geographical divisions of the country. Let me know what you think. -- Visviva 02:07, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- thanks for your mention :-) i think that province's or city's categories shoud not be included in Category:South Korea directly. non-korean speakers won't be able to understand what category it is. because these categories named by only korean language(ex.Geonggi,Chungcheong...).
- following is best solution that i consider.
- make Category:Administrative divisions of South Korea
- this category include province's or city's categories (ex.Category:Seoul Category:Gyeonggi)
- delete Category:Cities_in_South_Korea (since a strong resemblance to Category:Administrative divisions of South Korea, this category will be unnecessary.)
- what do you think about my suggestion? please tell me your argument.
- (this is my first time to talk in en.wikipedia. please forgive me,if there is an unsuitable point by english expression.)Cinnamon 03:11, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your thoughts. :-) I think that your suggestion is a good one. I created Category:Administrative divisions of South Korea as you suggested. I'm not sure if we should delete Category:Cities in South Korea or not... Maybe some users will want a big list of cities that isn't sorted by province. On the other hand, most cities now have a "See also" link to List of cities in South Korea... so maybe we can delete the category. But someone should check List of cities in South Korea to make sure it's complete. Thanks again for your good work! -- Visviva 11:59, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Wikiproject
[edit]Since you're interested in South Korea, and you've already made those great maps, maybe you would like to be part of Wikipedia:WikiProject South Korean counties and cities. We could use your help! If you're interested, you can add your name to the "participants" section. Also, if you think there are some things on the WikiProject page that should be changed, please feel free to change them. And thanks again! Cheers, Visviva 11:59, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Cinnamon. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Cinnamon~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
