In 1979 MCW and Scania went thier own ways, with MCW launching their own Metrobus in 1977-8. Scania laucnhed thier own double decker in 1980 from the UK market as the BR112DH powered by the 11-litre DS11 and couple to a Voith automatic gearbox, a couple of prototypes were built with East Lancs bodyworks in 1980-1, with the first production models going to Newport Transport in 1981 with Marshall double decker bodywork. It was also built with Alexnaders new R-Type bodywork (launched also in 1981) and Northen Counties.

In 1983 there was a single decker version built with Wadham Stringer Vanguard bodywork also for Newport Transport. However the BR112DH didn't sell very much in the end, and in 1984 it was replaced by the N112DH, only one batch of these were built for Newport with Alexander R-Type double decker bodywork. In 1986 the more sucessful N112DRB was launched and was built as a double decker with Alexander, East Lancs and Northern Counties bodywork, in 1987/8 was when sales started to go up since de-regulation had occured, the former National Bus Comapanies were buying other products other then the Leyland Olympian (which still sold well though). There was also a single-decker version - designated N112CRB - which sold in small numbers and was built with either East Lancs or the stylish Alexander PS type (launched in 1988 to replace the boxy P-Type launched in 1983). 62.252.224.17 (talk) 19:09, 22 March 2005 (UTC)[reply]
