What the HELL is this??? Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do. This article is absolutely unreadable. I am doing my best to fix it, but it's likely I'll get stuff mixed up, since this is presently a bunch of genealogical mumbo jumbo...JHK

It also includes errors. See Battle of Giurgevo, Miahi of Moldavia (!?), battle of Suceava etc.

Cluj-Napoca

[edit]

Why "diet of Kolozsvár" and not "diet of Cluj-Napoca" since the name of the city in Romanian is Cluj-Napoca? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dicocodino (talkcontribs) 23:47, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because Cluj-Napoca is a modern day name adopted under Ceausescu. Learns some history, son. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.2.85.95 (talk) 00:25, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Date of death

[edit]

There seems to be some inconsistency in the article about his date of death. The lead sentence, infobox (at the top of the article), and "succession box" (at the bottom) all say it was 27 March 1613, while the "Last years" section claims 13 March 1613, apparently sourced from an encyclopedia entry. Unfortunately, I have been unable to verify this using Google Books (I can only search "blindly" in the text, not read full pages). OTOH, I have found the March 27th date in a different source. Can anyone verify that the cited source (from the article) actually contains the March 13th date? - dcljr (talk) 22:58, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. 27 March is the correct date. I fixed it. Borsoka (talk) 03:01, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, Borsoka, but you changed the date without changing the citation. Are you sure the source supports that date? (I cannot see more than small snippets of text from that work at Google Books.) - dcljr (talk) 03:19, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am sure. Borsoka (talk) 03:21, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait in full regalia

[edit]

I added a 1595 engraving of Sigismund in full regalia. It is of particular historical importance since he is using the triple princely title (as overlord of Moldavia and Wallachia). In any case it is more martial and might replace the portrait previously used on some other pages and lists. I would also appreciate if someone took the time to publish this on hu.wiki.
